Jean-Jo Evrard - Founder
Jean-Jo Evrard is member of the Brussels and Paris bars. He is a leading IP litigator in Belgium and has experience in all aspects of IP litigation, particularly trademarks.
Jean-Jo has authored and co-authored various articles and books on IP protection and enforcement. He lectures at the law faculty of the University of Liège (Belgium). Jean-Jo is a long-standing member of INTA and various international IP associations. He is also very active at the national level within the Benelux.
Over the last few years, Jean-Jo has developed and co-ordinated European-wide trademark defense strategies for large trademark holders. As a result of which, he discerned a need for a compilation of all European trademark-related decisions. To this end, he has created the new electronic database, Darts-ip.
Darts-ip is a private and independent company. Its shareholder base does not include any law firm, legal service provider or publishing company.
Legal team
The legal team performs the legal analysis of all the decisions in our various databases and develops and improves the tree structures in these databases. Our specialists are also available to answer specific legal questions from our customers. The team is currently composed of 76 full-time and part-time IP professionals.
Claire Fobe: Legal Manager Trade mark, Domain name and Design & Model
Claire has a Master in Law and specialized in Intellectual Property at the HUB (Brussels). She gained a lot of experience in trade mark and design matters while working for more than five years as a trade mark and design attorney at GEVERS by advising national and international clients in these fields. Claire heads the team of analysts for the Trade mark, Domain name and Design & Model databases.
Eric Sergheraert : Legal Manager Patent
Eric is a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) and a Doctor of Law (Phd) and holds the certificate of aptitude for the profession of lawyer (CAPA) and a Diploma in Patents from CEIPI (the Centre for International Intellectual Property Studies in Strasbourg). He has 8 years of experience in the intellectual property profession and has worked in the IP service of the Macopharma Pharmaceutical Laboratory, the firm EGYP (IP consultants) and the law firm Véron & Associés.
Operational team
The database team is responsible for collecting case law decisions from across Europe and performs the non-legal analysis of the decisions in the database. This team deals with the collection, scanning, uploading and non-legal analysis of decisions. Contact: Emerald Dickson ()
Sales team
The sales team promotes Darts-ip to customers and maintains our relationships with existing customers. There are currently 6 individuals in the sales team, each responsible for a different country or geographical area. Contact:
Management
The management team of Darts-ip previously launched Transwide, the largest electronic European road transportation platform. Transwide pioneered the industry by launching the first full electronic CMR, the legal road transport document. The platform was used by over 3,000 companies across Europe when it was sold in 2005 to Wolters Kluwer.
